We have only one mission!

To help smaller businesses!  That means we’re not focusing on companies with hundreds or thousands of marketers in multiple markets, we’re keen to help those with only a small marketing team.  It may just be one person, or there may not even be a full time marketing role.  Where we can help the most is with companies that are already doing some marketing activities in one or several markets, they already have marketing spend, but they’re unsure how to proceed, or how to develop their marketing. This is where we can provide the most support as we can bring the best of big company marketing thinking, and apply it to you.

For the larger corporations, there are other more suitable options, which can accommodate your scale.

For the past decade, big brands have been investing  heavily in expanding their digital presence because they know this is the future. Today, if you have a poor digital presence, most likely the rest of your marketing is struggling as well, and you are in serious danger of being left behind.

Often large companies spend big bucks on hiring some of the smartest minds or often paying the handsomest fees to some of the swankiest agencies in town, and then rather disappointingly grumbling about the fact that the power in digital doesn’t simply rest in the hands of the person with the fattest cheque book, nor the glossiest agency network.

What goes wrong (3 reasons of many)?

1. Well, to start of with, some of the big and swanky agencies have high overheads, and they need to pay expensive salaries, so they try their best to sell services that make them the most money.  ENTER programmatic advertising, so many companies have been ramping up their programmatic advertising, spending a fortune on it, and guess what? It is mostly a waste of space and time. But it pays agencies well, they make good fees from programmatic advertising, so they sell it. They big data it. They behaviourally analyse it. All to turn something that’s really below par into something that sounds and looks more appealing.

2. Big companies employ people with fancy CVs and lots of relevant experience. Many of these highly paid people have had a succession of jobs where they have had little or no impact in their roles, but they were paid well and therefore the companies assume that this corresponds with capability. Also, they tend to go for young and bright (and cheaper), and often have younger and brighter digital savvy marketers making a mess of things, because they don’t have sufficient commercial and overall business experience.

3. Many larger companies run like little fiefdoms, and even though they may well have some very smart people in their offices, these people soon realize that they are not sufficiently empowered to make change happen. So they bide their time and then move on to the next job, and the next, focusing mostly on earning higher salaries, despite not having much opportunity to get things done. A few years later out comes someone very expensive with a great CV, and very little experience in really assisting and growing a company in the digital age.

Thankfully, Digital is THE  game changer for smaller players.  You don’t need to have major bucks to throw to get visibility like in the same way as traditional media and marketing often come down to understand digitals and its users and knowing how to reach out and engage them in an cost effective manner.

Digital can work well for you no matter how small or modest your enterprise may actually be. The key is to ensure  your digital activities get noticed. That you will be able to engage your customers in an effective manner – the right platform at the right time.

Just having a simple website up and running, a regular run of the mill newsletter, some social media attempts, and a hodgepodge of garbled data simply isn’t going to cut it, quite frankly, that’s just window dressing, and pretty shabby at that when you’re out there for all to behold.
