Alvin Chng is a seasoned media executive that has over 20 years of experience in the media, ICT and publishing sectors in Asia Pacific. Alvin has been Managing Director of AC Mediacom Pte Ltd since 2009. In this position, he is responsible for media business strategy and technology consulting with a primary focus on deployment and commercialization of broadcast media and content onto new media platforms. Prior to setting up his own company, he was the Commercial Director, APAC for TripAdvisor and Regional Director for The New York Times. In both appointments, he set up their APAC operations from the ground up. He was the Vice President at Channel NewsAsia (CNA), a pan Asia24/7 news channel, and was responsible for spearheading and managing their new media and continuous news desk division. In CNA, he developed and commercialized many World and Asia first services involving mobile and Internet technology.

Other prior experiences include Director, Business Development at Ednovation, an international children education publisher; Country Manager for 13 countries across Asia at Time Life Inc., where he was responsible for the launch of over 400 new titles and the establishment of new sales channels (DM, DRTV, retailing) and partnerships. An advocate and early evangelist of media convergence, he has hands-on experience in print, internet, mobile, broadcast and social media. He is often regarded as one of the few in the industry that has an in-depth understanding of the different spectrums of media, technology and effective commercialisation of media in APAC. He is interested in media monetization and trans-media communication and storytelling. Alvin is based in Singapore and holds an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University, USA and B.E (Hons) in Engineering from University of Queensland, Australia
